A very nice full signature and US Patent office numbers incised on the base of this Waylande Gregory prototype piece. The base reads “ Waylande Gregory U.S. patent 2,357,399”. The website shows the drawing of this piece and gives the information on this process of fusing Glass and Ceramics together. The piece measures 4 1/2” wide x 2 1/2” tall. The outside is textured and the inside is a very nice light, almost clear green crackle glass. The outside rim is a crackle glass in an amber color. This is an amazing piece that begins to show a transition into a new style by this famous Cowan Pottery designer. Please let me know if you need more photographs.
