1st Ed. Every Day Poems by Philip Whalen 1965 Coyote's Journal Beat Poet and San Francisco Renaissance Poet
Philip Whalen was not a part of the Black Mountain Poets but was a key figure in the San Francisco Renaissance and was also a Beat Poet.
Born in 1923 he was friends and colleagues with Gary Snyder and studied Zen and Eastern Religion. He was also the character "Warren Coughlin" in Jack Kerouac's The Dharma Bums.
