The book is in English and the offset colored plates are tipped in but what makes this amazing book are the photogravures of Maillol work. The process's tones lends itself to the sensual images of Maillol, even photographed outside the statues have a intimate feel and look to them. A wonderful book
The Dust Jacket has a full color offset image of Maillol's statue.

Condition: The biding is tight and in very good condition, pencil price on the first page and that page had a newspaper clipping which stained the page. The plates and the gravures are in near perfect condition. The back section of Maillol and His Critics, page 161-167 has some writing in pencil, very light notes on pieces identified. The DJ has soiling to the front and the back. The spine has darkened with age and slight bumping to the top and bottom of the spine DJ. There is a small bump that goes through the DJ and into the cloth cover of the book, please see the images of this detail. Minor shelf wear on the top and some slight soiling to the top. Please see the images.
