Antique Poison Bottle Strychnine Skull and Crossbones Label Circa Late 1800's

Brown bottle were used to help preserve the light sensitive ingredients inside. 
Strychnine was used medically in the Victorian era and not just a way to poison your ex lover or used for revenge. 
Medically, strychnine was used for heighten the sensitivity of the nerves to stimulation and even used in the eye if the patient lost their vision the poison would induce muscle contraction.
In psychiatric it was used for patients with irritable nervous systems and in some cases used on patients with depression, used as a calming agent. 
Strychnine is highly poisonous. 

This small, almost 4" tall bottle has an intact label and is very clear. The skull and crossbones on the top left and an antidote under the Poison Caution  "Mustard and Warm Water to vomit then cold tea or coffee, powdered charcoal, send for a physician"  Words of Warning  

Size: approx.  4" tall
Condition: very fine with light fading to the labels lettering and small blemish between Poison and Caution. No chips or breaks in the bottle. Please see the images for more details.
