Charles A. Watson Signed Oil Painting on Board Naval Painter Chesapeake Bay Area Circa 1920's
Charles A. Watson ( 1857-1923), naval and marine subject painter.
Watson's career was based primarily based in Baltimore Md and many of his subjects included the Chesapeake Bay and the surrounding areas.
This low light and tranquil scene has three boats painted from the shore.
The painting is an oil on board and is approx. 8" x 11", signed lower left "Watson" and is hard to see but if visible with raking light.
Painting is unframed and has very minor frame marks along the edge, please see images for details
Condition: fine with bump marks at the edge and you can see marks where the frame was. The varnish is yellowing and will need to be cleaned. Please contact me for a price quote from a trained painting conservator.
