Daguerrotype of Older Woman Holding Her Bible with Clipping of her Obituary from Baltimore MD circa 1840
Daguerrotype of Older Woman Holding Her Bible circa 1840 Baltimore Family and Image
Another Baltimore image of an older woman, who according the obituary along with the daguerreotype was the wife of Michael Macky, the clippings does not state her name. There are some references to the Irish Family of Mackey but not Macky, this could mean the name was spelled wrong or the family changed their name.
The clipping goes on to say that she died of a seizure of some sorts and died from that.
The clipping does not say Baltimore, mentions that they lived in the city, the other side the clipping has the merchant name of Luke Tiernan & Sons. This was a document name in Baltimore going back to the George Washington. A document from 1895 says that Luke’s cousin Patrick was an Irish Immigrant who served in the in the revolutionary army with Washington.
