Framed Burroughs Wellcome Pharmaceutical Botanical Photos of Picking Poison Plants Real Photos
Wellcome, is a major name in the Pharmaceutical field and also known now for their collection of strange and wonderments Museum in London England.
The story of the museum is very well documented and is quite a great collection and story.
Burroughs Wellcome had its roots in the late 1800's and continued into the 20th century.
The Frame is original with brass black on the bottom rail.
Each Photo is mounted to card board with attached label describing the photo, the type of poisonous plants they are picking.
Photos included:
from left to right
1st Image- Field of Digitalis (A group of medicines extracted from foxglove plants are called digitalin. The use of D. purpurea extract containing cardiac glycosides for the treatment of heart conditions)
2nd Image- A Field of Datura Metel (Datura metel is one of the 50 fundamental herbs used in traditional Chinese medicine, but is considered highly Toxic)
3rd Image- Gathering Hyoscyamus (known as the henbanes — is a small genus of flowering plants in the nightshade family)
The Frame is dark stained walnut
Size: 14" x 35" framed
Condition: Slight curl to edge of photo, frame has minor dumps. The images has slipped and reattached with archival binding tape.
