Late 1800s Oil Painting Applied Decoupage Children and Animals Signed and Dated
From a collection of Folk Art and Outsider Art from NYC.
Glenn Bristow has been an accomplished discerning eye collector for years. Her collection reaches many styles of folk art and outsider art that will not disappoint.
I will be posting selected items from her collection and I will note each piece that it is from her unique and wonderful collection.
A Charming Landscape Painting with Decoupaged Children and Animals. A wonderful piece of outsider/ folk art.
The stretcher is signed and dated on the back, Lillie Barker and dated April 19 1884. My guess the children and animals were put on by this person. The charm, the whimsical story this piece of folk art has to tell and it reminds me very much of the art Harry Darger created in the early 1900's.
Please see the photos I have included to give you a visual story and description of this amazing piece.
Note: I have photographed this piece with he glass and have not taken the item apart to photograph. Any lightness is from photographing and any damage will be noted
Size: Image 9.25 x 13
Size: Frame 13 x 16.75
Condition: Very good, the painting is behind glass. The Frame has some small wear and slight separation to joints.
