LCT Favrile Glass Candlestick
The Art Glass of Louis Comfort Tiffany was made at the early 1900's till about 1930's. The favrile glass was not an invention of Tiffany but a style of glass making going back to the Romans. The period of the 1900's, the revival period of Neoclassical design, styles and techniques, gave rise to old trades and productions and Tiffany's glass was a perfect example. His style and technique became instantly collectable.
The twisted stem Candlestick was an interesting design, completed they had a bronze stem and a glass favrile shade. Many of the lamps have broken over the years and some like this one has never been wired to be a lamp. The estate has always used this a small vase.
