Mid Century Designer Betty Cooke Sterling Silver Bird Pin 1950s
Mid Century Designer Betty Cooke Sterling Silver Bird Pin 1950s
Betty Cooke, (May 5, 1924 – August 13, 2024) was one of the top and considered on the best American Mid Century Design Jewelry makers. Her pieces have been collected and shown in major Museums, her last was a fantastic retrospective at the Walters Museum of Art.
Betty stated out in a small shop in Baltimore City and then moving in 1965 to then new and remained her location till she passed away in 2024.
Her pieces are one of a kind but yet designed with a path of thought and expression. Her pieces show a process and vision, her vision and execution taking her always in a new way but always remaining focused.
Take this amazing pierced bird pin, I had a design of this pin but the head was looking forward and like Cooke, she turned the head to expand the idea and have the head turned inward. In my opinion making this pin even better.
