R. Jennings Daguerreotype Philadelphia Vine and Second Street Portrait of f Young Man
Year: Circa 1850
"Robert Jennings was listed as a case maker in Philadelphia directories in the early 1850s, although at a different location than the one noted on this paper label. By the mid 1850s he had switched careers and become a veterinary surgeon. Few examples exist of cases with maker’s labels."
The Image of young man is hand colored, you can see the his cheeks, and his face and his white shirt have been colored, making the piece really stand out. A very early daguerreotype with very strong details for this early Philadelphia photographer.
