Tintype of African American Man in Work Clothes with Painted Backdrop Circa 1880s
Tintype of Poor African American Man with Painted Backdrop Circa 1880's
Something you do not see all the time, a person photographed but not dressed up. His circumstances probably would allow him to have a set of nice clothes, even Sunday Church clothes but that didnt stop him from posing for a image. This tintype is circa 1880's and again the clarity of the image is probably a photographer with a good lens. The detailing is amazing, you can see how he clothes are just hanging on. Even his pants you can see how they are stitched on the inside seam. His sweater, worn sleeves and holes.
One thing I really like is his facial hair, his long goatee is great.
Enjoy looking at this image.
