Combs 1967 Thesis was done for her Doctorate Degree In Philosophy  from the Univeristy of Oregon. 
The thesis was approved by A. K. Weatherhead 
Maxine Combs was born in 1937 and was a poet and writer and student of the Black Mountain Poets. 
The Thesis is four chapters each chapter devoted to a major figure in the poetry movement as well a chapter devoted to minor poets of the movement and style

2. Robert Duncan 
3. Robert Creeley
4. The Minor Poets; Jonathan Williams, Edward Dorn, John Wieners, and Joel Oppenheimer
5. Critical Theory and Style of the three major poets.

Condition: the front and back cover are very clean with light signs of shelf wear and light marks. Inside of front cover has light soil and staining and light foxing. The pages inside are clean with no damage or wear or writing. Back inside cover has light staining and foxing.
