A Rare 1800s George III Tortoise Shell Tea Caddy
From the same estate as the other tea caddies.
Here is one Tea Caddy that is in remarkable condition and also a great example of the elegant European Tea Caddies.
The tortoise shell is over wood with ivory trim on the lip of the box.
The velvet on the inside does show wear.
On the left side lid, a corner of the tortoise shell has been repaired, please see the images.
Size: 7 x 4 x 5
Condition: left lid has a repair, the front badge is missing off the front and appears that there was shellac finish applied at some point.
