His book, Morals and Dogma of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry published in 1871 is one of the foremost books on Scottish Rite and Freemasonry in America. 
Pike was a complicated man, serving int he Civil War as Confederate General, he was an advocate for the Native Americans representing nations claims against the Federal Government but was a pro slavery. 
His involvement with the fraternal orders has regarded him as one of America's early and knowledgable writers. 

Condition: very fine with no damage to the binding or pages. The pages are crips and very clean with no writing. Cover is very fine with very small bumped corners from storage, top right has small bend to corner and the back as a small corner bend. Please see the images for more details.
