Art Deco Ronson Cigarette Dispenser Pik a Cig Penguin Desk Lighter 1935
ART DECO RONSON PENGUIN PIK A CIG DISPENSER LIGHTER
Circa 1935
Made by Ronson
This is a very scare piece of art deco design.
Pik-a-Cig Penguin box designed and patented by Louis V. Aronson, patents on the bottom of the lighter.
The Penguin is painted metal, most likely bronze, a painted black metal base, a chrome Ronson lighter and Chrome and enameled and Art Deco design Cigarette container.
The Penguin drops down while the bottom tray slides, the penguin's beak pics up the cigarette and holds it in its bill. The mechanism does work, the drawer comes out but the penguin does not drop down all the way. I have not adjusted or altered this item. It is not broken but will need some adjusting.
Size: approx 8 x 5 x 5.3 Inches
Condition: veyr light paint lose on the black metal tray and very minor age marks to the chrome. The Penguin had two small spots on the bottom where it has been touched up. Staining to the inside of the Penguin's bill. Please see the images for more details
