Art Deco era Willy Pogany inspired DJER KISS Fairy Compact Silver Plate 1925 Kerkof (French Perfumer)
The collectable and sweet Two fairies kissing on the front of the compact and with textured back.
Front edge is marked with Djer Kiss and the inside powder puff is also marked Djer Kiss.
Inspired Art by Willy Pogany did the ads for the company Djer Kiss, and Pogany was a prolific children's illustrator who specialized in whimsical and fairy inspired art who's are alongside Maxfield Parrish is highly collectable.
"the French perfumer, Kerkoff, is best known for its fragrance ‘Djer-Kiss’ and also for its extraordinarily colourful and evocative images of fairies in its advertising material. The fairy theme would eventually be captured in a unique vanity case decorated with a repousse image of a boy and girl fairy kissing, tenderly – the epitome of the ‘Dear Kiss’, as ‘Djer-Kiss’ was pronounced."
The compact is in very good condition with the original puff intact. The original power and rouge is gone.
Size: 2 x 2 x 1/2
Condition: In very good condition with minimal signs of use, the silver plate is slight tarnish. I have not cleaned or altered this piece, it is as found in the estate.
