An amazing hardback with slipcase edition of war images of Otto Dix from 1923 & 1924 and the Erasmus essay on war are mirrors of two men who were opposed to death due to infantile higher ups who felt all lives but their own were expendable. One was written in 1500's by Dutch philosopher and Christian scholar who is widely considered to have been one of the greatest scholars of the northern Renaissance and fifty etchings by a man who was able to capture the brutality and inhuman sights and sounds in a single image from the First World War.
The slipcase is cloth bound with tipped on title card and spine. The book is a hard back cloth bound book with embossed gold spine.
Size: Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall
Condition: the slipcase has very light wear from age, minor soiling on the top and bottom. The Tipped on title card has light soiling from shelf and the spine tipped on has small left side curl and the left edge has light wrinkle. Light shelf wear to the slipcase. Binding of the book is very fine with minimal signs of use. Please see the images of these details. The book is in great condition with almost no signs of use or wear.
