Bronze and Iron Oscar Bach Marble Top Telephone Stand with Chair Neo Classical Orientalism
"Oscar Bruno Bach (Breslau, Germany, 1884 - New York, NY, 1957)
German born craftsman Oscar Bruno Bach was one of the most technically skilled and commercially successful figures in the field of decorative metalwork during the first half of the 20th century. His design and production ranged from small and domestic to grand-scale architectural. His style was as diverse as his use of metals and included Arts & Crafts, Gothic, Renaissance, Spanish Baroque, Tudor Revival, and, on occasion, modern Art Deco. Thematically he was particularly fond of the zodiac, of lush scrolling grapevines, classical masks, mythological symbols and elements of the Italianate and Germanic grotesque. Oscar Bach's work can be found in the permanent collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Minneapolis Museum of Art, The Wolfsonian, and Reynolda House." from the oscar bach website
Black Marble on the top of this Neo Classical designed motif piece with a mix of Orientalsism, Circa 1930's attribute to Oscar Bach.
No other visible damage to the piece. A great telephone table/ box with chair, hammered iron frame mirror, with bronze scrollwork
Inside is a thin metal with a patina finish.
Size: 23" wide x 41 1/2" high x 11 1/4" deep
The chair is approx. 30" high x 10" deep x 17" high seat.
Condition: The chair, has a small bend to left side finial and the the cross top bar is loose and not connected. The box is in very good condition. The Marble does have small area of chipping to the edge. Please see the photos for a detail.
