Circa 1850 Daguerreotype Distinguished Old Man Quarter Plate Case Image

This very nice and crips image of an older distinguished man shows a man of wealth and years. His small smile shows so much personality, hard to achieve in a daguerreotype since the exposure was so long but this man is natural.
No photographer names on the mat or the case, an unknown sitter and an unknown photographer.

Size: Quarter Plate 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" Leather case is approx. 3 3/4 x 4 3/4 inches
Condition: The leather case does have age and storage wear and as you can see the case hing is cracked and damaged. The lid is held on by a fabric piece at the bottom. The image is fine with some dust under the glass and the edge around the sitter has tarnished. The back seals are almost gone, held together but will need to be replaced.
