Gold Filled Broach Hand Tinted Tintype Young Man Portrait Civil War Era
A new Collection of Civil War era artifacts have come in to my store. My client who has been a 19th C. Medical collector has opened his drawers to have me sell Gold and Gold Filled Photographic broaches and memori morti items.
The first item I am offering from this collection was the post of the Hair Art Broach that is dated approx 6 months after the start fo the Civil War, please see that post here:
Next up is this amazing Tintype portrait of a young man in a rolled gold, gold filled bevel broach. The photo is hand colored and shows this dapper young man with perfect styled hair. The buttons on his jacket are hand colored and the slight rose coloring to his cheeks make his portrait shine.
The glass is a thick and slightly beveled giving this loving keepsake the best gift he could give.
Size: 2 1/4 x 1 /4 inches.
Condition: Minor wear to the left edge, slight and almost unnoticeable marks on the photo. Please see images of the details. The Gold has minor abrasions and wear consistent with age of the piece. Please see the photos to get more details
