Mourning of someone has always been a part of life, but the invention of photography showed in detail how people grieved or showed their love of someone who has died. The most curious and now collectable has been post mortem images. In the Civil War, the death and loss has at an all time high and most of the time, the family did not have a body to bury and or to photograph.

Condition: very fine, the image is crisp and very detailed. Very light soiling from age on the front with light marks from storage. The brass mat has aging from storage. Please see the images for more details
