Confessions of an English Opium-Eater (originally published in 1821) is an autobiographical account written by Thomas De Quincey, about his laudanum addiction and its effect on his life.
Thomas De Quincey (1785–1859) was a literary critic, a contributor to Blackwood's and other journals of the time, and also a writer on history, biography, and economics. The book tells the journey of his addiction at a time when opium was prevalent in England
Published by Heritage Press in 1950 with a slipcase, both cover and slip case being marbled.
Illustrated by Zhenya Gay (born Eleanor Byrnes) (1906–1978) was an American writer and illustrator.
Condition: the book is very fine and in near perfect condition with slight signs of use. Slip Case has some wear to the edges and top and bottom of the case on both the front and back. No seam breaks. Please see the images for more details.
