Eddie Cantor Mask By George L. Roether (American, 1913-1998)
Eddie Cantor was American comedian, actor, dancer, singer, songwriter, film producer, screenwriter and author. He also wrote the Merry Melodies Theme song. His Trademark move was "His eye-rolling song-and-dance routines eventually led to his nickname "Banjo Eyes". In 1933, artist Frederick J. Garner caricatured Cantor with large round eyes resembling the drum-like pot of a banjo. Cantor's eyes became his trademark, often exaggerated in illustrations"
George Roether was an animator for Disney who created portraits of some of the top figures of his time. Roether did "figures between 1935 and 1941 in an attempt to have them mass produced. However, Disney declined the project."
