George Elbert Burr Circa 1905 Evening Lake Geneva Aquatint Etching Signed Lower Left
George Elbert Burr, 1859-1939, American Artist who's work know is considered one of the top American etchers. He created thousand of etchings of landscapes in American and some European scenes.
He worked for numerous magazine through the years and was later given one man and group shows. His work now is considered by museums around the world as important work of American style and beauty and is now shown along side such great contemporaries of Burr as Remington, Charles Capp and others.
Here is piece that was done, circa 1905 in Wisconsin, Lake Geneva and is a wonderful blue toned etching.
Signed lower left, George Elbert Burr, stated "trial proof" lower right and dated Dec. 4 Impr. in the middle( also in pencil).
The frame is original from the estate and is behind glass.
Size: paper approx 12 x 10
frame size: 18 1/4 x 16
Condition: Very good with slight soil at the edge.
