Hendlers Ice Cream The Velvet Kind Flavor Menu Sign with Kewpie in Original Frame Circa 1940s Baltimore
Hendlers Ice Cream, from Baltimore had the tag line "The Velvet Kind"
The Company was based in Baltimore and started around the turn of the century and was a staple pastime of many Baltimore families.
This early, circa 1940's menu sign is in the original frame with glass. Each flavor, made of cardboard, was able to be displayed and replaced as the flavors would change.
The Kewpie figure was an addition to Hendlers in the 40's.
A great piece of Baltimore/ American History advertising display.
Size: 23 3/4 tall x 11 3/4 wide
Condition: The frame is intact but has paint loss. The cardboard is very fine but will need to be cleaned, it has hung in my clients house for about 30 years and they have not altered the piece. You can see some dust is on the board and behind the glass. Some light fading the colors but very minimal and very minor due to the age and the material. Please see the images for details.
