J. Jaunbersin oil painting on Board of Girl with Basket
A portrait of a Girl with a basket painted on board signed lower right “J. Jaunbersin”. This late 19th –early 20th century artist has been very well documented over the years with sales in auction houses around the world. This particular piece is very nice and is bit of departure into portraits. Sales of Palaces and Buildings are being sold at the auction house. The face has beautiful detail with strong highlights. The subject sits in a chair and looks slightly off to the right. She holds her basket in her lap and her shawl is still wrapped tightly around her neck.
The board is approximate 1/16” thick and the board measures 5” x 7” The total measurements in the frame is 8 1/2” x 10 1/2”. The signature is on the lower right, but has some wear. You can still make out the signature, but the last few letters are worn.
