Original first printing and only printing for John Coltrane promotional poster issued in Japan circa 1975 by Victor Records/Prestige. 
The poster is designed K. Abe, with the artist’s imprint to the top right corne.

K. Abe, Katsuji Abe (1929-2008) "Abe was a free lance album cover designer and part-time photographer not only in Japan but the United States, England and Austria. By 1955, Abe was busy enough to become a full time photographer and focus his primary interest in American jazz. His photographs have graced many jazz record covers and he has six published books, among them Jazz Giants-Vision of the Great American Legends," 
K. Abe's photos of Coltrane, who he traveled with Coltrane, caught some of the most amazing and phenomenal images of Coltrane's later career. 

The Poster is a promo poster, not marked promo but were used to promote the recent Prestige issues in Japan.
Prestige recordings were reissued in Japan by Victor Record Company Ltd/ Victor Music Industries, Inc., in the late 70’s early 80’s, this and the others I am offering were promo posters designed and photographs of K. Abe, marked on the top right.

Condition: very fine with light marks on the edges and a couple very small and minor edge tears. Please see the images for more details.
