Lebenswecker, The Life Awakener by Carl Baunscheidt Cured Whooping Cough Baldness Toothaches Mental Disorders
Carl Baunscheidt (1809–1873), a German mechanic and inventor created a quack medical device and coined Baunscheidtism, late 19th C. a form of homeopathy and alternative Medicine.
The Lebenswecker, means Life Awakener was a spring loaded device that used a grouping of thin fine needles and was used on the skin that was homeopathic oils on the skin.
The device is made out of turned wood and is stamped on the wood cap, Baunscheidt with the address of Bonn. The embossed stamped is slightly worn.
The Metal needles are also stamped Baunscheidt. Please see the images for more details.

Size: 10" long and without the cap 8 3/4"
Condition: very fine and is working. The cap does have an age crack but does not effect the lid. The spring does work and the needles are in good condition but it has been used, please see the images provided for a visual description.
