Remarkable Unsigned Silver Pawn Navajo Cuff Circa 1930s Concho Belt Style Rosettes
Unsigned Silver Pawn Navajo Cuff Circa 1930s
This incredible Navajo cuff comes from the same collection as the watchband cuff. The three circular turquoise cuff are close to a Concho Belt and the rosettes used. Two small simple boarder rosettes with inset turquoise are on either side of the center rope and hammered designed boarder with inset turquoise. A great piece, not huge like other cuffs with cuff fits nicely on the wrist.
Unmarked or stamped by the maker, this circa 1930's pawn piece has very nice hand hammered designs. The underside you can see the construction and solder marks and the sand cast. Most likely a melted US Coin Silver was used, typical of early pawn pieces.
The turquoise is a rougher style, not as polished as other more commercial pieces, also a sign of an earlier piece.
Size: inside diameter at the widest is 2 1/2 inches wide. Width of the cuff is 2 3/4 inches.
Condition: fine with obvious age and wear marks. One rosette turquoise is cracked, the other is near perfect. The Center turquoise has small chips at the edges. I have not cleaned or altered this piece, as is from the estate. Please see the images for more details.
