Signed David Bowie Record from Collection of One of the Sigma Kids 1974 Philadelphia
From the Collection of one of the Sigma Kids from Philadelphia.
David Bowie came to America to record his album Young Americans in August of 1974 at Sigma Studios, the studio was know for its soul sound and was called "The Sound of Philadelphia”.
The fans who heard about Bowie recording, already die hard fans would go to the studio to see him. Bowie the affectionate and sincere person he was, became close to the small group of 10 kids who became known as the Sigma Kids. These fans would see him, hangout with him and even some being allowed in the studio. There is an amazing documentary called The Sigma Kids which many of the group were interviewed. My client choose not to be included in the documentary but I can have a person who was interviewed support her being a Sigma Kid. I have also included a photo of my client in front of Sigma with her friends, the photo is by Dagmar Krajnc. This and other photos can be sen on the Sigma Kids Facebook page.
The three photos attached are by Dagmar Krajnc, my client is featured in these images. The first one she is running with the Looney Tunes shirt, in the front with the large pocket book and the last one, sleeping far right.
Signed in pen on the front “With Thanx Bowie xx”
