Signed The Photography of Architecture and Design by Julius Shulman Signed 1st Ed. with a Signed Letter to Mary Brent Wehrli

Julius Shulman (October 10, 1910 – July 15, 2009) was an American architectural photographer who has photographed most of the major modernist architects and their buildings who lived in LA and stayed active photographing till the end of his life in 2009.

The Photography of Architecture and Design was published in 1977 by Whitney Library of Design. Stated 1st edition hardback with Dust Jacket in protective mylar. 

The Title page is dedicated to Mary Brent ( Mary Brent Wehrli) “My new found “old” friend!” And is signed Julius Shulman November 2003 in marker. Included is a printed letter with Julius Shulman Photography letterhead, typed and pen signed. Along with the letter is the Julius Shulman envelope posted marked 2003 to Mary Brent Wehrli. 

Mary Brent Wehrli was a woman who was a social welfare professor and a philanthropist who created scholarships in Horticulture.
Wehrli..”1990's involved her serving as a Social Welfare professor at UCLA, where she established, among other things, a program for all first year students working toward a Masters degree in Social Work to spend at least one full day on Los Angeles' skid row. During that same chapter, she helped to organize grassroots coalitions to fight for a living wage law, to mobilize regional service agencies in response to the needs of the poor, and to move Los Angeles in the direction of declaring itself a sanctuary for Central American refugees. And in the process, she was named California's Social Welfare Practitioner of the Year in 1999.”

Condition: The book is in very condition with the mylar cover showing some wear. The Dust Jacket is in Very Good condition. The binding is tight with the inscription in marker being very fine and crisp. Please see the images of the book and letter for more details.
