Signed Oil on Artist Board Tiger Roaring in Faux Finished Frame Circa 1920
Signed Oil on board painting of a Tiger
When I first saw this in the estate I was immediately drawn to it. The crouching roaring tiger reminds you of the early Tarzan and early travel books of Africa.
Year: Circa 1920
Signed: Mary Wescott
the back is signed in pencil "Mrs Geo. Wheeler"
The back of the artist board has the label Devoe and Raynolds Art supply logo label is circa 1920
A heavy varnish over the painting gives a very nice texture to the painting. The Frame is faux finished
Size: 22 1/2 x 27 inches
Condition: Fine with slight varnish yellowing from age and minor soiling. The Frame has bumped to the edges. Please see the images provided but feel free to ask for more images before purchase.
