Smoking El Papel de Fumar Signed in Plate Fabraga Lithograph Printed in Spain by LLauger in Barcelona Circa 1925
Richard Fabregas (1906-1947).…”son of the noted cartoonist, Jose Fabregas Bausili. He learned to paint at the Lonja School of Fine Arts and was known for his work in the field of advertising and book covers.”
The poster is an amazing Art Deco inspired art and design for the Spanish company of Miguel y Costa, a cigarette paper company. Printed in Spain for the “Exclusive and Special Printing for Iberia Paper Imports, LTD” and “Sole US Distributors of Miquel y Costas & Miquel, S.A. Barcelona” Lithograph with very fine saturation only found in the lithograph process. Circa 1925 and in remarkable condition. You can see the rich black tones and lithograph printing in the refined and tuxedo gentleman. The lettering is a photolithography process.
Signed in the plate on the top left. Printer name on the bottom right margin with company name on the bottom margins.
