Tintype of Woman with Messy Hair Circa 1880's Possible Sick
Circa 1880's tintype of a woman, not a typical photograph at all with this messy hair woman.
Her clothes seem somewhat normal, they seemed to be more of a costume than clothes. The way the fabric is glossy and the neck lace is just over her neck. What separates this image and makes you draw not good conclusions is her hair. The hair is long and pulled back the hair is not kept or styled in anyway.
Most woman in hospitals, prison or detained, their hair was cut short, this woman does not have that but she seems like she is "trying". What I mean by "trying" is that she is holding on, maybe depression or just not well.
Regardless, a person getting photographed was usually a high point since it was expensive and was a rare occasion. This woman does not fit into this concept of a person getting photogrpahed in the 1880s.
