Tramp Art Boudoir Box with Small Hidden Drawer Blue Velvet Adorns the Top and Front and Sides
Tramp Art Boudoir Box with Small Hidden Drawer.
Circa early 20th C.
I really love this little box, the hinged top opens to show a texted paper on the lid and inside of the box. The Drawer on the bottom, hidden and blends in with the tramp art is also lined. Bottom of the box has another type of textured paper different from the inside. The texted paper appears to be an old wallpaper and is coated in a brownish shellac.
The simple but thick and layered chipped carving is very architectural, the front having a small arch in the center with a blue velvet on the front and sides and the top. The top is stuffed and was used for hat pins or broaches.
A fantastic boudoir box
