Very Limited Numbered Edition Gullivers Travels 1925 Printed by Robert Gibbings Golden Cockerel Pres
A Very fine two volume set of Travels into Several Remote Nations of the World by Lemuel Gulliver, printed by The Golden Cockerel Press at Waltham Saint Lawrence in Bershire in 1925. The two volume are numbered editions 480 with this one being 464.
Gulliver was the protagonist and narrator of Gulliver's Travels, a novel written by Jonathan Swift, first published in 1726. As stated, this edition's text is taken from the Bohn Edition, 1864.
Printed in vol. II on the back page states the pressing and artist, Robert Gibbings and was the art was designed and engraved on wood by David Jones.
The two volumes are hardback with cloth and black boards.
Condition: binding is tight on vol. 2, vol. 1 has a weak spin and started to separate at the top, some discolor to the cloth from age and shelf wear to edges. Minor foxing on some pages. Book plate on front board and pencil marks on the first page.
