Walter Vinson Photograph Frank Driggs Collection
If you have been following me, you maybe have seen other images a collection had from the famous RCA man, Frank Driggs.
"Frank Driggs (January 29, 1930 – September 20, 2011)[1] was an American record producer for Columbia Records and a jazz historian and author, known as well for his collection of over 100,000 pieces of jazz music memorabilia including photographs"
This image is not marked by Frank Driggs but other images had labels on the back from the "Archives of Frank Driggs". The photos have been mounted to cardboard and are hinged with tape at the top holding the cover and the onion paper that covers and protects the image.
Walter Vinson, played with the great Mississippi Sheiks from 1929-1941 mostly with the Mississippi Sheiks. If you are curious Third Man Records issued two volumes of this bands amazing output.
Walter Vinson was born in 1901 and died in 1975. He played mostly guitar in his years of recording but here is posed with his Steel Guitar, these guitars were loud and used by some highly respected blues players, Bukka White and Son House to name two.
The back of the photo's board, the name says Little Brother Montgomery but this is Walter Vinson.
The Photograph is dry mounted to the board with a cover sheet stating the artist.
